Wind turbines play a crucial role in the pursuit of renewable energy in Belgium. But how many wind turbines does Belgium have exactly? And what happens to them at the end of their lifespan?

To assess the public's knowledge about wind turbines and their dismantling, we created a short quiz. This quiz was completed by many respondents in April and May. You can find the results via the green button below.

Purpose of the Quiz

POM West Flanders is working within the projects Ready4Decom and OWiDEx on a clear strategy for the dismantling and repowering of onshore and offshore wind turbines. The focus is on legal, logistical, financial, ecological, and processing aspects. However, social acceptance is also a key element in developing a broadly supported strategy.
